The 2021 Summit will be designed with safety and wellness of attendees as our top priority. Working with the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, we will take measures and precautions to make sure that you can focus on your learning experience and participate safely and worry-free. Hilton and its partner, the Mayo Clinic, have developed the Hilton CleanStay™ with Lysol Protection system that ensures rigorous cleaning and disinfecting protocols are applied throughout the hotel.

Carnegie Foundation’s eighth annual Summit is scheduled for April 25–27, 2021, at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. Building on the learning we gained in pivoting the 2020 Summit from a physical space to a virtual one, our 2021 conference will be a hybrid event of in-person and digital programming. Please refer to the Summit website and this FAQ for up-to-date details leading up to the 2021 Summit in April.
Fully recognizing that every individual’s situation is in flux, our goal is to make it easy for you to attend the 2021 Summit. We are developing a flexible cancellation policy that will allow for in-person attendees to change their registration to remote participation and for remote attendees to change their registration to in-person participation.
What happens to my registration if, due to the pandemic, the in-person component of the hybrid event is cancelled?
In this situation, Carnegie will pivot to an all-virtual Summit as we did in 2020, and your in-person registration will be automatically updated to that of a remote attendee. The difference in the registration fee will be automatically refunded as well.
The 2022 Summit is scheduled for March 27-29, 2022, at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront in San Diego, CA.
